Today’s Parola del Giorno is the adjective, basito, which means dumbfounded or perplexed. You can see the adjective used below in its context:

Sono rimasto basito quando ho saputo del matrimonio di Gianni. Conosce Elena da pochissimo tempo e non è mai stato un tipo impulsivo. Deve essere proprio innamoratissimo di lei!

I was perplexed when I found out about Gianni’s wedding.  He has known Elena for such a short time and was never an impulsive type.  He must really be in love with her!
