FINALLY…PdG is back online!  Sorry for the lack of words, but things in Italy – as I am learning – work differently than in the United States! Today’s Parola del Giorno is the adjective, lento, which means slow. It can also be used as an adverb to mean slowly.  Remember: as an adjective, lento must agree with the noun it modifies! See the word used below in its context:

Luigi è molto lento nell’apprendimento. Per questo ha bisogno sempre di un insegnante che lo aiuti, nel pomeriggio, a studiare e a fare i compiti.

Luigi is a very slow learner. For this reason he always needs a teacher in the afternoon to help him study and do his homework.
