piccino

Today’s Parola del Giorno is the adjective, piccino, which means tiny or weeny.  Piccino can also be used as a noun to mean little one, as in the second example below. See the adjective used below in its context:

Quanto è carino il nuovo cane di Alberto! È piccino, pelosissimo e corre dappertutto!

How cute is Alberto’s new dog!  It is tiny, furry and runs everywhere.

or, as a noun:

Marta: ” Come sta il bimbo?”

Dora: “Il piccino sta bene!  È molto vivace e curioso. Fa sempre un sacco di domande su tutto!”

Marta: “How is the kid doing?”

Dora: “The little one is well! He is lively and curious. He always asks a lot of questions about everything!”
