Today’s Parola del Giorno is the adjective, fesso, which means foolish or dumb. It can also be used as a noun to be mean blockhead or idiot. See the adjective used below in its context:

Ho detto a Martin che è stato un fesso a non fare un collaudo alla macchina usata che ha comprato. Adesso non funziona bene ed è sempre in riparazione.

I told Martin that he was an idiot for not test driving the used car he bought.  Now it doesn’t run well and is always in for repairs.
