fai da te

Today’s Parola del Giorno is the expression fai da te, which means do it yourself or, as we say in English, DIY. It literally means do by yourself.

When we say that we are a do it yourself-er we are saying that we like to tackle projects or repairs on our own without having to pay someone to do it for us.

See the expression used below:

My uncle is a do it yourself type even if he is not the best at doing jobs at home. Usually the things he tries to fix remain broken, and then my aunt has to call a professional who costs even more!
