sbranare

Today’s Parola del Giorno is the verb, sbranare, which means to tear apart.  It can be used literally — like what wild animals do to each other — or can be used figurative, in the conditional, to demonstrate that you really dislike someone.  See the context below:

Le mie colleghe sono ipocrite, fingono di volersi bene ma in realtà alle spalle se ne dicono di tutti i colori. Se potessero si sbranerebbero.

My colleagues are hypocrites, pretending to care about each other, but, in reality, they call each other all sorts of names behind each other’s backs. If they could, they’d tear each other apart.

NB: WordPress made some modifications to how it handles the mp3 file that is used for the audio.  It works fine on the web site, but the app is not grabbing the file as it should.  This is being addressed.  Once it is fixed, I’ll post an update.  Simply close out of the app and restart it, and it should grab all the audio files as normal. Thanks for your patience!
