Today’s Parola del Giorno is the verb, salire (su), which means to get on, such as a bus, subway, or to board, such as a boat or a plan.  See the verb used below in its context:

Mentre stavo salendo sull’autobus per poco l’autista nel chiudere la bussola mi lasciava incastrato, non si era reso conto che ancora non ero entrato del tutto dentro il bus.

While I was getting on the bus, the driver, while closing the door, almost left me stuck. He hadn’t realized that I still hadn’t not gotten all the way inside the bus.

: the past participle is, salito, and essere is used with compound tenses (the verb is intransitive

: salire in macchina = to get in the car

salire is irregular in the present tense:  salgo, sali, sale, saliamo, salite, salgono
