Today’s Parola del Giorno is the verb, sdrammatizzare, which means to downplay. See the verb used below in its context:
Secondo me, questa nuova misura proposta dal governo è molto importante ma i politici sdrammatizzano la legge come se non fosse pertinente ai cittadini.
In my opinion, this new measure proposed by the government is very important, but the politicians are downplaying the law as if it weren’t relevant to the people.
: the past participle is sdrammatizzato
: takes avere in compound tenses
For those who donated between May 1 and July 2, 2014:
Just a quick note to say that I have not forgotten about anyone! I received some emails yesterday from some people who wanted to know why they didn’t get a code for the iBook Store version of the book. As I said in earlier emails, I can’t mail out codes to everyone because there are only 50, and I don’t know who has a Mac or iPad and who doesn’t. If you want a code for the iBook Store, you have to email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and request it (Don’t worry, I have a plan B if the codes run out for the Mac/iPad version!).
If you do not have a Mac or iPad, I can give you perpetual access to the Google Play version. You do not need to have an Android tablet or smartphone to use Google Play. Anyone who has a PC (or a Mac or iPad) can use this version. If you donated and have a Gmail account, I can turn on your access. Again, if you donated, please email me your gmail address since many of you donated using other email addresses. This version allows downloading of the pdf to your computer or tablet (the only caveat is, if you read it outside of Google Play, you need to have Adobe Digital Editions on your computer or an app on your tablet that can read pdf’s with DRM).
If neither solution works for you, sit tight! There will be a Kindle and Nook version at the end of the month that can be read on your computer using the Kindle App, tablet, Mac, PC, or iPad. I will also try to offer straight up pdf’s of the file, too.
The reason that I am pushing people to Apple or Google is because these books update. That means that if you buy it once, you will have access to all the updates and future additions to the book. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me. Remember, that the book is not yet finished, so for those who have downloaded it, there will be updates coming soon!
