fare la colletta
Today’s Parola del Giorno is the expression, fare la colletta, which means to take up a collection, as if often done in churches and by charities in order to help the poor or those in need. See the expression used below in its context:

L’altra sera i parrocchiani hanno fatto la colletta per un barbone che non mangiava da diversi giorni.
The other evening the congregation took up a collection for a homeless man who had not been eating for several days.
: Everyone should have received either:
1) an iPad/Mac download code from the iBookstore (there were only 50 of them, and they have all been given out)
2) I gave you access to the Google Books/Google Play version (you need a Google/Gmail account for this version)
3) I emailed you a special download link for the pdf file (the link is active until September 3rd!).
If you donated and did not receive an email from me in the last few days, please email me (firstname.lastname@example.org), and I will send you the download link for the pdf or, if you have a Gmail Account, I can give you access to the Google Books version (you can also download the pdf from Google Books). Some donations were received as “blank” – meaning I don’t know who donated or with what email address so there might be a couple of you that I missed.
Lastly, thanks for your patience! In the ebook, there is a special thank you to everyone who donated. I appreciate your patience and generosity as I learned how to self-publish a book via all these various platforms.
