la camicia

Today’s Parola del Giorno is the noun, la camicia (le camice), which means shirt. Be careful: the plural of this word share the same form (but different stress!) as the noun, il camice (tomorrow’s word!). See the noun used below in its context:

Non riesco mai a stirare la camicia come si deve! Ogni volta ci provo ma ci impiego troppo tempo. Mia sorella invece è molto brava e veloce a stirare le camice partendo dal colletto e poi passando alle maniche e al resto.

I can never iron the shirt as one should! Every time that I try to do it, it takes too much time. My sister, though, is very capable and fast at ironing shirts, starting at the collar and then passing to the sleeves and then to the rest.
