da dio

Today’s Parola del Giorno is the expression da dio, which means divinely or beautifully. It is often placed at the end of an infinitive to express greatness in an ability as only a god might have, as in our example below:

Ieri Maura ci ha cucinato il suo risotto ai funghi porcini: le viene buonissimo. Maura cucina da Dio!

Yesterday, Maura cooked her porcini mushroom risotto for us: it turned out good for her. Maura is a great cook!
