This week’s theme is going to involve combinations of these verbs and expressions to help you learn and memorize them! Each day we’ll profile 2 or 3 of them in each example so that you can get a better sense of how they are used.

Let’s get the party started!

Today’s Parola del Giorno are fare il bucato and stirare, which mean to do (the) laundry and to iron, respectively.

La domenica mia madre fa il bucato perché è sempre una giornata tranquilla. Io e mio fratello andiamo in città con amici e la casa è più tranquilla finché non inizia a stirare! Quando mia madre stira, grida e si arrabbia. A lei non piace!

Every Sunday my mother does the laundry because it is always a peaceful day. My brother and I go to the city with friends, and the house is quieter until she starts ironing. When my mother irons, she yells and gets angry. She doesn’t like doing it!
