In a few short weeks, I will be leaving my job and heading back to graduate school one last time as I work toward my PhD! In honor of the occasion, I thought it would be fun to learn some words related to leaving one’s job and employment in general.

Today’s Parola del Giorno is the adjective disoccupato, which means unemployed.

La crisi economica in Italia è così grave che molti giovani non hanno un lavoro e sono disoccupati da anni.

The recession in Italy is so serious that many young people do not have a job and have been unemployed for years.
