Today’s Parola del Giorno is the verb stappare, which means to uncork. Wine bottles are traditionally sealed with a cork (il tappo). While in English the cork is both the stopper and the material, Italian has two different words. The cork material is called il sughero. The cork of the bottle can also be made from other materials, too. See the noun used below:
